Relaxed Screenings FAQs

Relaxed Screenings are designed for guests who benefit from a sensory-sensitive cinema experience, including those with autism, sensory sensitivities, anxiety, learning disabilities, or other conditions that can make traditional screenings challenging. These showings provide a more comfortable and inclusive environment to enjoy with friends, family, and carers.

We adjust the environment to make it more comfortable, including:

• Lower sound levels
• Dimmed lighting (kept on throughout the film)
• No ads or trailers – just a countdown before the film starts
• Freedom to move around or make noise
• Phones, fidget toys, and stimming are welcome
• Outside snacks are allowed (we can provide popcorn boxes to decant them)
• Use of electronic devices is permitted

Everyone is welcome! These screenings are tailored for neurodiverse individuals, but friends, families, carers, and anyone who prefers a more relaxed cinema experience are encouraged to join.

To ensure a calmer atmosphere, we block off every other sofa to reduce crowding. You’ll still be able to choose from the available seating when booking online or in-person.

Our trained team members will be visible and available throughout the experience to offer support if needed. All of our team members assigned to Relaxed Screenings receive specialist training, and where possible, the same team will be present at each Relaxed Screening to provide a consistent and familiar environment.

Yes, we will provide a designated quiet, private space for anyone who may need a break before, during, or after the film.

No, Relaxed Screenings do not include subtitles unless otherwise noted.

We understand some guests have dietary needs or specific preferences, so you’re welcome to bring your own snacks.

Yes. Clear signage will be displayed throughout the venue, and a downloadable photo journey of your visit is available online or at the venue. This includes key locations such as:

• Entrance
• Toilets
• Screen
• Quiet Zone

Yes! We provide venue packs online that include photos, accessible routes, parking info, lift access, and fire exits. You can also access 3D tours (for select venues) and full food and drink menus from the hub page.

Yes. A brief introduction before the film will explain the environment (e.g. phones allowed, moving around is okay) and highlight some moments in the film with loud sounds, silence, or sensitive themes like loss or violence.

Yes. We increase our screen checks for Relaxed Screenings to ensure that our guests are comfortable, the film quality is appropriate and to assist with any food & beverage orders. We are here to help, give us a wave if you need any assistance.

Yes. A synopsis and trigger warnings will be available in advance, especially if the film includes distressing content such as action sequences, loss, or intense themes.
